From the reviews on steam it seems the game has performance issues at some point. I hadn't played long enough to experience it apparently.

Update: After playing the demo on my Linux Gaming PC, I only experienced occasional frame rate issues using the other two quality modes, not on performance mode. It seems to be related to weather (rain, ice, snow). The demo could be out-dated though.
