Ashigaru Tactics is a hex-based tactical RPG set in Sengoku era Japan. The land is ravaged by clan warfare, bandit incursions, and rumours of Yokai are emerging. Assemble a squad of men and lead them through this chaotic era. Take on contracts for money, kill and loot your way through the land, and equip your men as they level up and grow stronger - the ones that survive long enough.

The game has a procedurally generated world map layout, which you can freely move around and visit towns for gear and contracts, as well as hiring new squad members.

The battles are hex-based tactical combat, make the best use of your squad members and their skills, careful positioning, and sometimes just go all in on a lucky hit roll gamble.

Your squad is assembled from a mix of farmers, monks, militia, ronin, and more. If you have the money, get the best men you can find. Just make sure you can cover their wages.

Your squad members will level up through XP in combat, giving them improved attributes and perks that will make them stronger and more specialized in battle. Each squad member can be built in many different ways, so experiment and make the most of them.

Many squad members will die as you make your way through the troubled world. The ones that live on will have glory.
