Run an Adventurer's Guild and recruit fools, dreamers, and ne'er-do-wells with promises of power, riches, and forbidden knowledge. Send them out into danger and make money off of the loot they find. Build distant trading outposts and explore deeper under the city.
Hero-Driven Story
With 24 different personality aspects, heroes make the choices that the story forward. Will your ranger risk a trap to get extra gold? Will your wizard let your bard's insult slide or start a fight? When the stress of adventuring is too much for your warrior, will they take it out on monsters or on your guild? Beneath a Dead City features a dynamic storytelling system where epic story arcs are built organically.
Greed-Driven Heroes
Heroes make their own decisions, but they are greedy little murder hobos. Place bounties on monsters, buildings, and other heroes in order to influence their behavior. A little bit of gold helps persuade a feckless slacker.
Survive the Depths
Build, recruit, explore, research, and struggle for survival in an uncaring world. The apocalypse that wiped out the old city is coming back for round two. If you survive long enough, you might be able to stop it.
