About Extreme Hill Driver

Extreme Hill Driver is a 2D, physics-based hill climbing game where every bump, jump and tilt of your car matters. Pick your vehicle, choose a map, and try to reach the finish line without running out of fuel or rolling over.

There are no levels to grind through in a linear list. Instead, each of the 7 handcrafted maps is a self-contained challenge with its own terrain, elevation and risk–reward balance. You start on Green Hills, then unlock tougher routes like Rocky Ridge, Desert Dune, Lava Valley, Cliffside Peaks, Dusty Canyon and Stone Trail using the coins you earn in play.

Coins are earned directly from driving. Collect coin pickups placed across the map and unlock one-time distance rewards the first time you push further on a given track. Hit key milestones (for example 500m) on a map for the first time and you’ll receive a bonus payout – then try to optimise your run by grabbing every coin you can along the way. Fail by flipping the car or running out of fuel and the run ends immediately.

Vehicles are central to your progress. Start with a basic car, then use your coins to unlock 7 more – from jeeps and sports cars to a heavy school bus – each with different weight, grip and handling. Every car can be upgraded across four core systems: engine, wheels, fuel tank and speed. Investing in upgrades lets you climb steeper hills, carry more momentum over gaps and push further before refuelling becomes critical.

Under the hood, Extreme Hill Driver uses straightforward but unforgiving 2D physics: over-accelerate on a slope and your car can pitch backward; land poorly and you’ll bounce, lose traction or roll. Success is all about throttle control, learning each map’s profile, and finding the balance between speed and safety.

Extreme Hill Driver is fully playable in English and includes UI localisation for 26 languages, with more content planned: new vehicles, new maps and a future multiplayer mode are on the roadmap.

Features

  • 2D physics-based driving: Weight, momentum, traction and rotation all matter; bad landings and over-rotation can flip your car.
  • 7 handcrafted maps: Green Hills, Rocky Ridge, Desert Dune, Lava Valley, Cliffside Peaks, Dusty Canyon and Stone Trail, each with its own terrain profile and difficulty curve.
  • 8 unlockable vehicles: Start with a classic car and unlock jeeps, sports cars, a school bus and more, each with different handling characteristics.
  • Deep vehicle upgrade system: Improve your car through four core stats (Engine, Wheels, Fuel Tank, Speed) to climb faster, grip better, travel longer on a single tank, and reach higher top speeds.
  • Progression tied to skillful driving: Collect coins placed along the route and earn one-time distance rewards the first time you push further on each map.
  • Fail-state based gameplay: Runs end instantly if you flip the vehicle or run out of fuel, encouraging careful throttle control and route knowledge.
  • Simple mode structure: Choose your car, choose your map, and try to reach the finish line in a single Normal mode focused completely on driving and optimisation.
  • Coins-based unlocks: Use in-game coins to unlock new vehicles and maps.
  • Multi-language UI support: Interface available in 26 languages for a global player base.
