There are many tactics you need to employ to survive. One mechanic involves breaking the barbarian's shield, which requires inflicting the burn and slow status before stunning it with lightning. Another is with tower placements because projectiles will miss if enemies are not properly aligned with its path. Min-maxing involves rushing waves which gives you 3 times as much cash but 80% less time to defeat your enemies! And these are only a few of the many mechanics in this game.
